Something is missing; I need to find it.
The Seeker carries the capacity for unknowing. In its functional expression, it becomes increasingly comfortable with not knowing, allowing questions to remain open rather than needing to resolve uncertainty through beliefs, explanations, or final answers. When distorted, it can express itself as something missing. In this form, it carries an underlying sense that something essential has not yet been found, understood, or experienced, creating the feeling that life as it is is somehow incomplete.
When this card comes up in a reading...
The Seeker may be pointing to a need for unknowing, or revealing where something missing has taken over. It asks us to notice whether our searching is opening us to what we do not know, or driven by the belief that somewhere there is an answer that will finally make us complete.
Unknowing
Becomes increasingly comfortable with not knowing, allowing questions to remain open rather than needing to resolve uncertainty through beliefs, explanations, or final answers.Inquiry
Questions our assumptions, beliefs, identities, and interpretations, remaining willing to discover that what we have taken to be true may be incomplete or mistaken.Non-Attachment
Holds ideas, beliefs, people, possessions, experiences, and ways of life lightly, allowing them to change or pass without making our sense of security or identity dependent upon keeping them.Loosening Identity
Allows the journey to soften rather than strengthen our ideas about who we are, becoming less invested in maintaining a fixed identity or using what we have discovered to define ourselves.
Something Missing
Carries an underlying sense that something essential has not yet been found, understood, or experienced, creating the feeling that life as it is is somehow incomplete.Elsewhere
Looks beyond what is already here, believing that what we seek lies in another experience, teaching, relationship, place, achievement, or future moment.Certainty
Searches for the answer, truth, or understanding that will finally resolve uncertainty, becoming attached to the belief that if we search long enough we will eventually know for sure.Endless Seeking
Becomes so invested in searching that each answer leads to another question and each destination to another destination, making it difficult to recognize when there is simply nowhere else we need to go.
